Golf Swing Training Aids
We believe that there is no cookie-cutter golf swing that works for everybody. Many people will try to imitate the swing of their favorite touring pro. But even Tiger Woods has changed his swing a number of times over the years. And Padraig Harrington's reaction to winning 3 majors was that he needed to change his swing to try to help him win some more. Jim Furyk was often encouraged to radically change his swing, but his swing works for him and he can consistently deliver the club to the ball, so his attitude is why change it?
Remember that the purpose of the golf swing is to deliver the club back to the ball. How you get from Address to Impact may not be as important as being able to repeat the process in a consistent manner. The slightest deviation at impact can result in big differences to the ball flight. The aim is to have a consistent swing - one that works for you, one that you can repeat over and over without having to think (too much) about. The key to repeatability is practice.
There are many Golf Swing Training Aids on the market that are designed to help improve your game. Some work better than others.
At Golf Forensics we have tested many products over the past number of years. We have found some of these products to be excellent teaching and training devices. We plan to give our opinions below.

Our Opinion
I have used both the Medicus Dual-Hinge Driver and also the Medicus Dual-Hinge 5-Iron. The difference is that the Driver is designed for a more shallow swing plane. It takes a few swings to get used to the breaking action of the hinged club. It immediately broke on takeaway indicating that I was starting the backswing too quick. I also kept "breaking" it at the start of the downswing because of an over-the-top action.
The dual hinge action of this club has definitely made me slow down my takeaway and transition. The Medicus clubs seem to be slightly heavier that my regular clubs and after swinging the hinged club for a while, that seems to help to smooth my swing tempo also. I find that I am now hitting the ball consistently straighter. I still slice and pull occasionally, but not as often. Also I now find that when I do slice or pull the ball, I can tell why it is happening and feel more confident correcting the problem on the course. Going through the drill of doing a proper takeaway and transition helps a lot.
Medicus Vision Track
They Say
With the Medicus Vision Track golfers can actually SEE the line the sweetspot should be covering during the stroke for the first time EVER! Most golfers are confused about how and where the club moves during the golf stroke. The Medicus Vision Track gives the player a clear picture of what SHOULD be happening and almost immediately improves their Swing Plane by simply following the "Alternate Target Line." The Medicus Vision Track is highly portable, easy to set up and gives immediate feedback on whether or not your stroke is on, or off, plane.
